Would you enjoy the challenge of developing your coaching skills and the footballing skills of young people?
Calverley United Junior Football Club has been in existence since 1989. However, we are constantly looking to develop the club.
We are looking to recruit new coaches interested in joining an established, fun and successful coaching team. No experience necessarily required, we will provide support and training for any new member joining the club.
If you would like any further information or a chat in the first instance please contact David Hardaker (Club Welfare Officer)

Calverley United Junior Football Club is a volunteer junior football organisation. Our aim is to provide young people within the Calverley and surrounding areas, the opportunity to play football in a safe, fun and supportive environment. The focus is on developing players respect of others, skill, understanding and enjoyment of the game, irrespective of their ability. VISIT www.TheFA.com/respect
We have approximately 180 children who participate in the football club across age groups from under 7’s to under 18’s. All our coaches are FA qualified and CRB checked. New coaches / managers are vetted and attend FA coaching courses which include Safeguarding Children and First Aid.
Calverley United Juniors was founded in 1989 and one of our main objectives was to give local youngsters the opportunity to play competitive football. We do not adopt a “Win at all costs” attitude and we have managed to retain our founding principles whilst achieving some notable success. The club has always promoted fair play and respect ensuring that our players are given equal opportunities, whilst being able to enjoy football for what it is - a game!
Coaches or Assistants required to join ambitious football club.
Respect is The FA’s programme to address unacceptable behaviour in football – on and off the pitch.
On average, thousands of referees quit football every year because of the abuse they receive from players and from the sidelines. Lots of children also pack the ' beautiful ' game in because of the attitude and actions of over-enthusiastic and pushy parents.
The FA has launched a free online Respect Parent Guide to highlight examples of poor behaviour and, more importantly, how it can be improved. To see the Guide for Parents, carers and sideline enthusiasts click on the respect images above and below.

Calverley U15 Boys Beat MENston
Under 15’s Division 15C Craven League
V Menston at Calverley Park, Sunday 28th 2010 @12.15pm
Menston 1 - 7 Calverley
Having hastily rearranged the match after Menston's pitch was deemed unplayable, both teams met at Calverley Park for a 12.15 kick-off. Calverley started the match strongly and took an early two goal lead, with goals from Connor and Calum. Menston were then given a life line when they were awarded a penalty which they dispatched in the top corner of the goal. This gave Menston the confidence to pick up a head of steam and they started to control Midfield. This was short lived though and Calverley brought on super-sub Cassius, who promptly scored and gave Calverley a 3-1 lead at half time.
In the second half, Calverley stepped up a gear and dominated the game, passing the Menston team off the pitch. They created numerous goal opportunities and scored 4 more times with goals from Sam H (or was it an own goal J), Cassius, Connor and MOTH Bradley, who's second half midfield performance was excellent.
This continues the U15's excellent season of 12 wins and 1 draw out of 13 games and keeps them embedded at the top of the table.
Under 12s Keep Their Nerve!
Back to back games on the 28.2.10 and 7.3.10 between Sandy Lane and CUJFC, who are second and first respectively in the league, involved ten goals altogether. Both sides went hammer and tongs for the valuable six pointer.
Both sets of supporters witnessed 120 minutes of skill, guts and nail-biting action. End to end football certainly kept the coaches on their toes. Both teams played with sportsmanship, but no quarter was taken or given by either team. The league position as it stands at the moment indicates how close these two teams are.
The game on the 28.2.10 saw Danny Mc produce an outstanding goalkeeping display to keep CUJFC in the match, resulting in him receiving the Match Point from Sandy Lane and the Man of The Match award from the parents. Jaye's midfield drive and skill saw him score an outstanding goal and receive the Captain's award. Danny B continued his goal scoring feet with the second and equalising goal.
Danny B lead the line superbly last Sunday and totally justified winning the match point from Sandy Lane with his outstanding pace and skill, pushing his goal tally to twelve for the the season. Luke received the Man of The Match award from the parents, for his energy and drive through midfield, plus an important contribution with a goal. Young dynamo Jordan scored, pushing his total for the season to eleven. Also an excellent defensive contribution by the duo Harry 'O' and Kienan M. Kienan M with his slick timely tackles quite rightly deserving the Captain's Award from his partner.
