Welcome to Under 7’s!
We hope that you enjoyed the training in the park in July and we look forward to a great 2006-7 season. Welcome especially to our new members and welcome back to those who have been through it before! Calverley United Juniors welcomes all young players, parents and carers. We hope to provide a safe friendly environment in which your child can enjoy playing and learning about the game of football. We cannot do this without your help.

Training.
Training will be at Brookfield's (next to Palmer's Plants) on Sundays 10 - 11.30. This season we will have children aged 5 to 7. Depending on numbers we will try to provide a range of individual and small group skill activities, as well as possible friendly fixtures for the older children later in the season. If training has to be cancelled, e.g. ground frozen, torrential rain etc, then you will be emailed or telephoned beforehand. Please ensure that George has your contact address, telephone number (and or mobile) and email. Please ensure that we have your current mobile/ home telephone number in case of emergencies.

Kit.
Clothing - Please ensure that your child is suitably dressed for the weather (it gets very cold at Brookfield’s). In cold/ wet weather layers of clothing with a wind/waterproof top and tracksuit bottoms should be worn. Hats and gloves if it is cold. In warmer weather normal football kits, hats and sun cream are recommended. Boots and shin pads - Please fasten football boots securely and provide shin pads to prevent injury. Shin pads can be bought in ASDA or a sports shop such as Sport Soccer (also good for cheap boots).

Drinks.
Non-fizzy drinks in a labelled bottle please! Also a snack rather than a picnic!!

Inhalers.
All children who have inhalers should bring them to training sessions and games. They should have the child’s name clearly marked on it. You must ensure that the coach is aware that your child has an inhaler.

Special Needs.
Please make sure that the coaches are aware if your child has special needs so that we can help your child as much as possible.

Subs.
Still £2.00 payable to George at the beginning of training please. You can pay for several weeks in advance if it’s easier. Money raised pays for equipment, Calverley United Club fees (£200 for Under 7’s for the season), training for coaches, kit etc.

Training in the Park.
This was the first time that there has been a training session for children Under 7 to come and try football with Calverley United. It was well attended with 23 children, 4 coaches from other age groups. Thanks to everyone who turned up and especially Dave Hardaker for getting all the equipment out!

Web site.
As the season goes on the website should be filled with more information. If you have any ideas for it let me know and I will pass them on.

Hats.
With the colder weather coming soon it’s a great time to purchase a beany hat for your child! Woolly hats are available at £5.00 each with the Calverley United logo on the front. Great for a Christmas pressie! Let me know ASAP if you would like one.

Volunteers.
If you would like to help out with tuck shop, training, setting up for training etc, then please see George. The more help the better! Any help whether once a month would be welcomed!
